Idea Pins and stories, and what you can save

Multi-page Pins come back as separate files, in order. A board of stories does not download as a set.

Stories and Idea Pins are multi-page posts. Copy the link to that post, not the board around it.

Idea Pins and stories are the same kind of object for this tool: a public Pin with more than one page. Each page can be a video or a still. PinSaver lists the pages a logged-out visitor can already open, in the order the creator published them.

One Pin, several files

Download all starts the files one after another. There is no zip archive and no single combined video. A cooking story with a clip, then a photo of the ingredients, then another clip, comes back as three files in that order. You can also save just the page you need.

The address has to be the Pin. A board titled “stories” is a collection of Pins. Open the story, copy that Pin link, and paste it. Private stories stay private. Saving the pages does not move the copyright.

Cover versus pages

The first frame you see in the feed is often only the cover. The story downloader and the Idea Pin downloader both list the later pages when the Pin exposes them. If you only wanted that cover, the thumbnail tool saves the still and leaves the clips alone.
